This is a glycerine filled gauge to protect from vibration and the gauge body is constructed from stainless steel. Our test gauges are supplied fully assembled with all threads sealed, so ready for fitment straight from the box.
 
Liquid Filled vs. Traditional Gauges:
The primary reason for mechanical gauge failure is vibration. In traditional dry mechanical gauges, delicate links, pivots, and pinions are prone to damage from vibration, leading to inconsistent performance. In a liquid-filled gauge, the fluid fill effectively dampens system pulsation, making the gauge pointer easier to read, eliminates gauge needle "chatter" which is a common factor with traditional mechanical gauges.
